Maintenance-related activities have a significant impact on the budgets of organizations. Cost optimization and equipment availability are increasingly leading to a balance being sought between budgetary constraints and the quality of the service provided by the equipment.
On the other hand, and to mitigate the risks of maintenance activities, organizations are beginning to impose a set of contractual requirements on their maintenance service providers, including the certification of the service provided. This requirement is the result of the high impact that maintenance activities have on an organization’s competitiveness, response times and the quality of the end product.
As a result, the standard NP 4492 – Requirements for the Provision of Maintenance Services was developed. It can be used by any type of organization providing maintenance services, regardless of its size or area of expertise within the broad spectrum of maintenance.
Requirements are defined so that maintenance service providers can offer solutions to their customers which are in line with their needs and objectives, with the intention of becoming a market selection criterion and a vector of business and competitiveness for the company providing the service.
